I like the crackle glaze, but the metallic black needs to be thicker

Back with more fish

Christmas may be over, but I'm not ready to stop making fish ornaments yet. I guess it's never too early to start for Christmas 2016.

That's an angelfish (a new design) on the left, and a goldfish on the right.

Chickadee Bowl

Wow, it would've been nice to make a whole chickadee and holly tableware set for Christmas. Maybe next year!

American Toad bowl

Three American Toads and one female Spring Azure butterfly. The flowers are bindweed, chicory, and yellow wood sorrel. I love our little hop-toads and lawn weeds. Miss you all, come back soon!

Here are a couple of glaze combinations, on white clay and on brown:

The mug on the left is white stoneware, the 2 on the right are brown. All three have Coyote Mocha Shino as their main outer glaze. The two mugs on the right seem slightly underfired - we've been having an issue with one of the kilns firing unevenly. Don't tell Joan, but the mug on the left is one of her Christmas presents.

Again, the mug on the left is white stoneware, the 2 on the right are brown. All three have Laguna Brilliant Sunburn and Laguna Green Tweed as their outer glazes. I like how the glaze turns aqua where the pink and green overlap. I may use this combination for our "Potter's Kitchen" show, and I'll definitely use white clay. I like the bright, clear color.
