Sacred Vessels: Water Urn

Frog pond
This piece is rather shallow: almost a platter, really. I'd like to do some painting in the center.

The water urn is ready to go...
My glaze tests were inconclusive, so I bootlegged it.

Water urn interior
Oh, I had wanted this to look quite different. I had wanted to paint a coral reef and a riot of fish, but it was just too difficult for me.

Fish lanterns redux
One of these little guys has pottery pal Julie's name written on him. Funny how they're each so individual even though they're all made the same way.

Sacred Vessels: Sky Lantern
That's Coyote "Shino" glaze on the bottom and Laguna "Forest Green" on the top. The "Forest" is a little thick: it's still pinging and crazing. Luckily this isn't tableware, but the noise wakes me up in the dead of night.
Ping!
It should stop soon...

Sacred Vessels: Earth Jar
Thrown brown stoneware jar with pulled snake and applied sculptural elements. Mostly Laguna glazes, with Coyote Shino dandelions.
Here's the jar before firing. I lost some sleep over this piece.
Gourami cup glaze test
Coyote Glossy Black glaze under Shino.
