Boxfish, meet Cowfish
They're in the same family, you know.
Boxfish's lid turned out all right in the second glaze firing: I'm glad!

More technical difficulties
Well, the glaze crawled like CRAZY on the over-fired puffers. But considering they're fugu pufferfish, they actually look just about right. They will have to do.
My first boxfish looks fantastic! But where's its lid? It's badly chipped: I believe it got dropped. I dabbed more glaze on it and I'm attempting a re-fire. These are the hazards of working at a community arts center.
Hope springs eternal: I started another boxfish this morning.

Technical difficulties
My poor pufferfish! There was a kiln mishap, and they were over fired (to glaze temperature instead of bisque temperature). The clay is no longer porous, which makes them difficult to glaze: it wants to just roll right off.
But I'm still going to try, with multiple thin coats and my hair dryer. Maybe I'll get lucky.
